Our attorneys not only have extensive experience in this area, they stay focused and involved in the evolving law affecting enforcement of competitive business practices. The firm is a member of the International Trademark Association where Tony Swafford serves on the Unfair Competition Committee. Tara Swafford is the former Chair of the Intellectual Property Litigation team at Bass, Berry and Sims in Nashville. The two have litigated a number of unfair competition cases, in federal and state court, related to non-compete agreements, trademark infringement, false advertising and theft of trade secrets.

Swafford Law has deep roots in the transportation industry. Tony and Tara are longtime members of the Transportation Lawyers Association where Tony formerly served as a Board Member. The firm is also a member of the Association for Transportation Practitioners where Tony serves as Vice President and Board member. The firm has represented both carriers and shippers and in a wide range of litigation disputes including employment discrimination, labor disputes, non-compete agreements, vehicle liability and casualty work, cargo damage claims, breach of contract litigation, white collar defense and intellectual property disputes.
Our appellant experience includes pursuing and defending appeals in state and federal court across multiple jurisdictions. This work includes cases where our attorneys are called upon to file, or defend, an appeal where we were not involved in the underlying litigation.
